Internships
Internships are a must. Internships can help you decide whether or not you are going in the right direction with a major or career goal. Internships are the best way to gain experience, branch out, network, meet new people, and learn more about any potential career goals. Below are some tips in finding some internship:
1. Do your own search of available summer internships or on-campus internships
2. Speak to any upper classmen that you may know on internships that they have done
3. Look into your community for any internship’s that may be available
4. Speak to your professors (major related professors) on any internships that they would recommend
5. Speak to an advisor (can be a department advisor, major advisor, or general student advisor)
6. Make sure you have a ready cover letter, updated resume, and recommendations/ references
7. Last but not least, have someone look over your resume and cover letters so that they are in the correct format and so may use them for internship applications
