Happy Lunar New Year 2016!
"If you want one year of prosperity, grow grain. If you want 10 years of prosperity, grow trees. If you want 100 years of prosperity, grow people."
-Chinese Proverb
On January 27, 2016 we held our Inauguration and Grand Opening for our new school building. This momentous occasion was celebrated by parents, community leaders, and our school leadership in recognition that our charter school’s vision for a permanent home for teaching and learning was finally realized. In attendance were members of the Board of Trustees, Assemblyman Dinowitz, Councilman Cohen, Honorable Marlene Cintron, President of BOEDC, Assemblyman Guillermo Linares, Reverend Ray Rivera and Shin Mitsugi Deputy Executive Director at Build NYC.
Also in attendance were members of the NYPD Community Affairs Unit from the 50th Precinct, Harlem North and Chief James Secreto.
For years we sought a permanent home for our charter school. The expanded resources to support our vision will serve to build upon our achievements over the past 10 years and to serve more students. Now that we have these added amenities, to include space for an Adolescent Health and Wellness Center, 2 science labs and a full-size cafe and state-of-the-art technology, our benchmarks will be a 100-percent graduation rate and 100 percent of our scholars are going to enroll in the college of their choice. They are going to do amazing things. They already are!

Charter School Advocacy Day:
February 2, 2016
Our charter school joined thousands of parents, students and families on the journey to Albany for Charter School Advocacy Day. The main purpose is to lobby the state legislature to increase funding for charter schools.
On Tuesday, February 2, 2016 Edilis Gonzalez, Director for Parent and School Community Engagement, organized our 8th Annual participation in our trip to Albany where we joined hundreds of other charter schools for Advocacy Day 2016. There were students, parents and staff in attendance. This event was an opportunity for the International Leadership Charter High School family to petition for increased funding from our elected officials.
It was a great experience for our school community. This event allowed us to celebrate the achievements of all Charter schools. We were able to meet with elected officials in support of increased funding for Charter Schools. We were also given the opportunity to meet and speak with Assembly member, Jeffrey Dinowitz alongside State Senator of the 34th District, Jeffrey D. Klein.
